About

capt screenshotWelcome to Foster Youth Museum, the largest collection of art, artifacts and video portraits about youth experiences in foster care. Conceived by current and former foster youth, the museum offers a unique opportunity to understand foster youth perspectives and how youth can heal and grow with supportive relationships, collaborative decision‐making, positive encounters, and respect.

The Lost Childhoods exhibit, available for rent, tells the story of loss and powerlessness in the foster care system – and the human capacity for resilience and connection. In the words of one contributor, “The foster care system leaves a footprint of loss and I’ve had to unlearn every single way the system raised me.”
